Here at Sound and District Primary School we love to link up with our wider community as often as possible! Sometimes as a whole school and sometimes just classes. Broomhall and Sound Chapel plays a large put in this; welcoming us for events and also coming into school for events.
Here are just some of the activities we have taken part in this year!
Remembrance at Sound
To mark Armistice Day 2019 the children at Sound each made a poppy out of pom-poms, at 11 am we as a school came out to the front of the building and held a two minute silence in front of the flag pole before laying a wreath and planting our poppies.
Harvest Chapel Visits
Both Key Stage One and Key Stage 2 made the short trip to Sound and Broomhall Chapel where a warm reception was made to us as normal! The volunteers at the chapel as normal made us feel very welcome! Thank you once again to the whole team.
At Sound and District we are incredibly lucky to have such a fabulous outdoor and woodland area, which we try to maximise! To keep improving the sustainability of our outdoor environment we made a bid to the woodland trust for new tress for the school grounds, which was successful! Each family has been sent a label to write on, these were then planted with the trees on Friday 14th June.
Whole School chapel visit
We were very lucky that we got to learn all about the lead up to Easter and the importance of the different days.
