Our Remembrance Week
Every class has been busy learning about different aspects of Remembrance, from the Poppy to writing biographies based on key people from World War 1. The children have tried incredibly hard in all that they have done, producing lots of different pieces of work. The Remembrance Exhibition in school shared this fabulous work.
The whole school gathered together and welcomed Mr Vine and Mr Wright into assembly. They shared objects and poetry with the children to help them to understand that we are remembering, not only the soldiers who fought, but others like the medical corps, who did and still do such a valuable job during the wars and conflicts. Following this, we all congregated around the freshly painted flag pole at the front of school, held a two minutes silence and then Jake (Head Boy) laid a Poppy wreath and Billie (Head Girl) read a very poignant prayer. We are incredible proud of how all our children showed respect for such an important part of our history and also how well they conducted themselves throughout.
