Curriculum Intent
Our intent in Design Technology is to ensure all pupils are taught the knowledge, skills and vocabulary appropriate to their year group focussing on the key end points.
Curriculum statement
At Sound and District Primary School we aim to provide an inspiring and informative Design Technology curriculum, preparing the children for a rapidly changing world. We create opportunities for children to design and make products that solve real and relevant problems within a variety of contexts, considering their own and others’ needs, wants and values.
EXAMPLES OF RECENT PROJECTS
At the beginning of each Design and Technology lesson the children across the school complete a 10 minute design. The ideas for this design can be purely creative or linked to another area of learning across the curriculum. The children are encouraged by their teacher to annotate their design with relevant details as well as draw their ideas from a range of perspectives.
